Robert Muller
Robert Muller’s exuberant approach to the piano is informed as much by classic funk as by impressionist composers and 80s pop. He had the formative privilege of working with jazz great Andrew Hill in college in his home state of Oregon. Then, in the mid-90s he moved to New York where he spent a decade performing at venues like the Blue Note and the Knitting Factory. His family eventually settled in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he maintains an active regional performance schedule. He has recorded and performed with artists like Larry Mitchell, Nathan East, Joy Harjo, and Robert Mirabal, as well as personal projects like the award-winning Kodama Trio.
